Ullanlinna Narcolepsy Scale (UNS)

The UNS is an 11-item scale assessing the 2 main symptoms of narcolepsy: excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and cataplexy.1

  • Consists of 7 items evaluating EDS and 4 items evaluating cataplexy2

The UNS was initially designed as a screening tool to distinguish narcolepsy from other disorders with similar symptoms. It is validated for screening for narcolepsy in children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years.2
